Meet O’Connor Nurseries Ltd. , part of the Green Cities Europe campaign in Ireland.
O’Connor Nurseries is a family business based in Gorey co. Wexford. The nursery is at present about 7.5 acres all glass houses and produces pot plants, bedding plants and vegetable plants. O’Connor nursery is a proud local employer and has been since its establishment in 1969.
Some of the sustainability initiatives O’Connor Nurseries have undertaken are using wood chip within their boilers and recycling a large amount of the water they use. They collect rain water from the roofs which is that used in the watering process.
O’Connor Nurseries supplies to national garden centers, some supermarkets and some big co-op stores.
