MORE GREEN CITIES FOR EUROPE CAMPAIGN

The ‘More Green Cities for Europe’ campaign will be launched on the 16th of June 2021.  Together with 12 other European countries, Ireland is committed to making cities more future-proof through the creation of green space and the use of ornamental plants.  This business to business campaign targets politicians, urban planners, municipalities, project developers and other professionals about the importance of green space in the living environment. The campaign runs until the end of 2023. Financial support by the nurseries’ organisations, combined with generous co-financing by the European Union, enables the campaign to make a substantial impact.

The campaign will be launched by Minister of State Pippa Hackett with responsibility for Land Use and Biodiversity, Val Farrell, IHNSA, and Bord Bia CEO Tara McCarthy.

There is expected to be a wide audience tuning into this virtual event, to raise the profile of the campaign, and to highlight the need for more green landscaping using Irish grown plants. It is expected to gain wide coverage in trade publications, special interest areas of national titles, and some general national coverage as well.

After the launch, the campaign will use PR and the LinkedIn account to highlight good examples of green landscaping using Irish grown plants, look at green landscaping issues and to keep the agenda in the news.

We want to emphasize the benefits Irish grown trees, shrubs, flower bulbs and perennials, as well as parks, green belts, roof gardens and green walls make to our living environment, and offer fast, specific and measurable solutions to many of the problems encountered in Irish cities.
